PanOMG for Android is a super cool photo app that makes taking panoramic pictures a breeze. Just snap off your first picture, then follow the onscreen instructions to take all the connecting photos. This one is easy to use and offers some truly stunning results.
PanOMG displays in landscape mode because only an idiot would try to take panoramic photos in portrait. The app is utter simplicity to use; just tap the icon to launch your camera, but with a panoramic interface. To make the magic happen, just decide on a central focal point for the picture you're taking, then snap off your first picture. From there, the onscreen instructions will guide you through the rest of the process, placing a rectangular bracket in the center of the screen, with a floating camera icon that appears on the left and right sides of your screen. Just move your camera to activate the accelerometer and get the camera icon to move into the rectangular bracket. When you get things lined up just right, the camera will automatically snap the next picture in sequence. Just keep going like that until all your pictures are taken.
The app features a graphic on the upper left of your screen which is broken into several pieces, denoting the individual pictures needed to make a perfect panoramic shot. As each picture in the composition is taken, another part of the icon on the upper left is filled, which means that portion of your panoramic shot has been acquired. You can take a traditional panoramic shot on the horizon, or add another layer above and below that for a pseudo IMAX sorta experience.
PanOMG is a quality panoramic photo app that's utter simplicity to use and returns stunning results. This one can make anybody look like a master photographer. The only problem is, photos like this would require professional printing to fully be appreciated.
