A fully fleshed out endless runner
Author: Brandon Girod

Good graphics, considerable upgrade options, easy controls
A lot of the bikes are locked behind a paywall, the controls can feel floaty at times
It looks like we’re finally starting to see a few developers that are tired of seeing the same game getting made repeatedly. Rush Star for Android is an endless racer that pushes the boundaries of what an endless game is. It features various levels, a host of cool looking bites, good controls, and stunning visuals.
The core of the gameplay still feels like the same formula but the upped production value and attention to detail really makes the game feel much more alive. It’s living proof that you don’t always need to reinvent the wheel if you can just make the wheel look and feel really cool.
As the player you’ll navigate the driver to collect coins while dodging obstacles. There are on-screen buttons that allow you to direct where you steer. What I enjoy about this game is that there aren’t three paths to follow, you can steer your bike anywhere you want, which gives players a greater sense of freedom and control.
My gripe and concern revolve around the content that is seemingly locked behind a paywall. There is no upgrade system in the game and the other vehicles cost real currency and you’ve still gotta buy them in-game, which is a huge grind.
Rush Star is a great endless runner, though. The gameplay is solid, the visuals are top notch, there is a lot of variance, and with that comes the typical freemium grind. But if you’re okay with that then this is an awesome way to spend a few hours.
