Well designed, beautiful aesthetic, interesting incentives
You can easily cheat the system, incentives take took long to achieve
Web browsers have extensions what will limit Web functionality in order to help you work without distractions but phone have never really had anything that really compared. Forest: Stay Focused is the first app I've seen that really tackles this problem and it does so in a really cool way.
Whenever you need to get some work done all you have to do is set a timer and put your phone away. When the timer runs out the game will let you know in your notification drawer and will let you know a tree was planted. Every time you get through the period of time you set then another tree is planted in your virtual forest. I love this idea because you can visually see something beautiful that you created by being productive.
When you set the timer you can also choose what type of tree you want to plant. In the beginning you only have one type of tree to plant, but you're rewarded with coins to buy new trees with every time you plant a tree. Eventually you can collect enough to buy new trees and help diversify your forest.
Trees are quite expensive, however, and I think it would be nice to see this aspect of the game to be balanced better because it really incentivizes the player to keep at it, but isn't the whole point of the app.
Everything about Forest: Stay Productive looks great. From the timer down to the way trees are designed, the app is just beautiful to look through.
