Beatport displays in portrait to deliver a dynamic looking user interface, with a horizontally scrolling slider at the top of your screen, populated with high quality images and highlighting featuring the latest releases. Below that, you'll find a vertically scrolling list of content, peppered with additional horizontally scrolling featured selections. The whole interface feels rather modern and inviting, which encourages search and discovery. Tapping any of the entries immediately begins playing tracks by the selected artist. There's really no individual artist pages or details pages, other than what's seen on the main interface. This one is all about jamming to some cool beats, with as little wasted time as possible.
The music is top quality, not amateurish. The recordings sound great and come off very polished and professional. There's a small circular headphone icon on the lower right, and tapping that will take you to the player's interface, where you can share and favorite individual tracks. Swiping laterally on the player advances to the next or previous tracks. There's also a side drawer that opens on the left, with text headings for, music, shows, profile and settings.
Beatport is a quality music app that's sure to be a hit with anyone who loves hip and cool electronic music. This one will make your toe tap and your body move.
