Review iGetter - Save Instagram video

Let's you grab screenshots and video
Incredibly complicated, the usefulness seems questionable, poor design
The Instagram app for Android is pretty awful. There are no two ways around it. If you grabbed some screenshots of it, jumped in a time machine, and showed them to me four years ago then I wouldn’t have batted an eye at them. In an effort to solve and issue that Instagram seems happily enough to ignore - saving photos.
I had a rough time figuring out how to get the app to work and you literally need to follow every step of the tutorial in order to get things to work properly. The way the tutorial is setup isn’t really ideal, though, and can be confusing enough on its own.
The biggest issue with the app is that you have to base your entire Instagram experience through it. You can’t simply browse through the native app and push a button in order to save it. You have to open Instagram through an app, then click to share the image via the share button, and then bring down the notification queue, add it, and then go back to the app itself and refresh it if it isn’t there. That’s quite a few steps for something as simple as taking a picture. And to be honest, why not just give credit to whoever posted the photo by sharing it?
The app’s interface really doesn’t help that it looks like it’s from the same time period the Instagram app is in. Half of the buttons have confusing names and you really don’t even need to use them in the first place. At least they make saving pretty simple.
Overall, iGetter feels more like a homebrew app than anything else. It works but not without jumping through a ton of hoops. Design was something that certainly wasn't a priority to the developer and I started to question why I really wanted to screenshot the pictures in question in the first place.
