Decent graphics, interesting plot, decent game play
Too easy, very common, bores you really quickly
Building the China Wall for Android offers a series of single screen build and dash sorta puzzles where you collect resources, remove obstructions and complete building sections of the Great Wall of China. The play is fast paced and energetic, requiring logic and strategy to conquer.
Building the China Wall displays in landscape from an aerial point of view looking directly down on the action below. The scene is ancient China, and you're high up in the lush greenery of the mountains. There's a lone cabin, and cutting through this landscape is the Great Wall of China, with a section missing that's incomplete. Your mission, is to gather supplies, chisel rock, find wood and harvest food to keep your energy up. There's lots of work to be done and you've only got a set amount of time to finish the missing portion of the wall before the clock runs out. The play basically involves running back and forth from your cabin to various points along a pathway. You can only complete one task per jaunt outside your cabin, so you gotta strategize your best moves and be efficient.
The controls use screen taps to choose your next task and our hero is ever dutiful, running to and fro with lightning speed. The graphics are quite nice, depicting cartoonish renditions of lush mountaintops and the Great Wall with some decent details. The animation is simple but effective, rendering some modest action and basic construction elements. The play is mildly intriguing but the mechanics are very monotonous and get old fast.
Building the China Wall is decent fun and will be best appreciated by puzzle fans looking for something a bit different to occupy their logic and reasoning.
