An epic quest that misses the mark

Quality soundtrack, interesting plot, one-finger controls
Glitches, very common, inconvenient to play on a small screen
Heroes of Might & Magic III HD for Android is an RPG fantasy combat fan's wet dream. The play is very heady and methodical, and requires a vast imagination to fill the gaps the play leaves behind. This one is only worth the steep purchase price if you're a diehard fan of the genre.
Heroes of Might & Magic III HD presents in landscape and is one of those games that looks far better in the video trailer and downright sucks in reality. Where's the game I saw in the video? Cuz I'd rather play that than this plodding, boring, overpriced mess. The game presents a map view from an aerial point of view, looking straight down on the action below. Your mission, is to search this microscopically presented environment in search of a game worth playing, but since you just sunk 10 bucks on this piece of crap, you may as well make the best of it. Basically, you're just moving about the landscape, reading text and making modest choices. There's modest "battles" to read about, but virtually none to be seen. The best entertainment this game has to offer, is in imagining all the fun you could have had with 10 bucks if you weren't dumb enough to spend it on this game. This one requires a big commitment of time and virtually no social life to speak of.
The controls use basic screen taps to make the magic happen, and the game couldn't even get that right; it took multiple stabs at my screen to get anything to register. The graphics are far too distant to be enjoyed, assuring this game would downright suck on smaller screens. The animation, if it can be called that, is crude beyond belief. The sounds are the game's strongest element by far.
Heroes of Might & Magic III HD might be more fun if the presentation wasn't so needlessly microscopic, but add to that shoddy controls, nonexistent animation and a steep price tag, and the only epic to be found here, is an epic fail.
