Review Power Button Flashlight /Torch

Brandon Girod
8.4Excellent
Lets you easily access your flashlight via the power button, the app's design is basic and easy to use
You have to pay in order to unlock turning off the torch via the power button
If you’re someone who happens to follow Android news, you probably remember all the bad rap flashlight apps were getting a few months ago. It seemed like every time you turned around a new app was being accused of collecting data through questionable permissions and supposedly selling the info to third party companies. Well, I can say with confidence that Power Button Flashlight/Torch for Android is just a flashlight app.
The first thing I did when I installed the app was check the permissions it asks for when you download it. The only two that it lists are access to your camera API, and it lets you know that there are in-app purchases. So, it’s not asking for access to your contacts, internet history, etc. Download with confidence!
The interesting thing this app does is allow you to quickly access your phone’s torch by pressing the power button three times when the phone is off, and four times when it’s on. I tested this out in multiple scenarios and the torch always came on no matter what I was doing. My only complaint is that you have to pay $1 in order to be able to turn off the flashlight with the power button. So if you’re a free user, you have to turn your phone screen on in order to turn the torch off, which is mildly inconvenient.
The app comes packed with customizations to this feature, and you can completely disable it as well.
Power Button Flashlight/Torch is a completely competent flashlight app that is safe to download, and has some cool features to help you quickly access your phone’s torch when you need it fast.
