Quality 3D graphics, responsive controls, ads are not confusing
Some menus were unresponsive
Parking Reloaded 3D for Android is the best parking game I've played. It follows on from Backyard Parking 3D, and the developers have made several key improvements to keep this game interesting.
Missions can have several parking spaces and checkpoints to work through. They are challenging, but not so hard that you feel like giving up. There's the usual 3 star system for each level. But earning a number of stars unlocks new vehicles, and also a different section of the game. In this parallel collection of levels, you will be weaving through obstacles and checkpoints in the Los Angeles river. You know the place, it looks like a massive storm drain; and it's been used in dozens upon dozens of movie car chase scenes.
You gotta watch out for some other moving cars too, which is a cool twist. Above all, the option to use tilt controls makes the game a lot more enjoyable. There's some bombastic menu music, which you can switch off, and the in-game sounds are appropriate and realistic. Load times are pretty fast, and the 3D graphics crisp and well-rendered. There are different view options to toggle between. There are helpful icons giving you the direction to the next way point, telling you to turn around, or that you need to line up better.
On screen buttons suffer the usual problem of being easy to miss. On some between-level screens, I couldn't register taps at all. But these problems are far outweighed by the innovations and improvements the game offers. And all for free, and with refreshingly minimal banner ads.
