Quality graphics, lots of levels, addictive game play, simple controls
In Marine Adventure for Android, the aim of the game is to match together three or more of the same type of fish in a level. Doing so will remove the fish from the board, and award you with some points. It's a concept we have seen countless times in the play store, but does this game have what it takes to be unique, or is it just a another fishy Candy Crush clone?
The first thing that you will notice about this game is that it is very accessible. The tutorial is only a few seconds long, but clearly explains what the game is all about. This is largely due to the fact that the game is so simple. You definitely aren't going to be drowning in complicated gameplay anytime soon in this fish-themed match 3 game, that's for sure.
The graphics are quite nice, and the the watery light-blue theme of the UI is easygoing on the eyes. Gameplay is relaxing and can be taken at your own pace, which cannot be said for some games in the same sub-genre. But there's not all that much else besides these points to make this game stand out. The same kind of power-ups are available, and each level has a tried and trusted 3 star reward system.
If you're wondering whether this game is worth diving in to, you should realize that it's a pretty big timekiller like other games just like it, and eventually you may be forced into using IAPs to get past the more difficult levels. On the other side of the fence, if you are a die-hard match 3 fan, you may find a lot of value in this game.
Marine Adventure is free, but as mentioned above, there are IAPs, and plenty of pop-ups after each level that coerce you into sharing your gameplay progress with friends.
