Perfect soundtrack, unusual game design, quality game play, responsive controls
Disco Zoo for Android is perhaps one of the most relaxing mobile games that you will ever get the pleasure to play. In this game, you are given full control over a farm, and must collect new animals from the wild to increase the size of your zoo!
When you first start this game, you will need to play through the tutorial. A zookeeper will guide you through the basics of the game, and you will need to capture your very first animal alongside her. After the tutorial is over, you will be on your own. Every time you go out into the wild to catch an animal, you will need to tap to reveal items underneath tiles within a square grid. To find the animals, you will need to find a certain set of items that match that animal, and they are usually hidden in a certain pattern.
Once you have captured an animal from the wild, it will be taken back to the zoo. Capturing animals increases your income per second, and you will need this money to make more improvements and capture more animals. The game will provide you different lifetime stats for your farm, but it does it in a clever way by routinely sending out zoo reviews from the local magazines in-game. This approach adds a bit more depth to your experience, and it is certainly something that should be done more often.
The most impressive thing to me about this game is how laid back it is. The gameplay is not challenging, but it's always exciting to play, and the chilled out background music is wonderful.
Disco Zoo is free to download, but you can purchase coin packs via in-app purchases.
