Quality 3D graphics, lots of levels, simple controls, quality physics
Mountain Bike Challenge for Android really is a challenge, and a fun one at that. Unlike other biking games like Trials HD, the controls in this game are hard to master, and because of this completing tracks is more difficult than you would expect. But this is where the fun is found.
In this game, there are four control buttons - two controls on the left side of the screen control the direction you steer in, and the two controls on the right side of the screen control your deceleration and acceleration speeds. As soon as you first start the game, you will be thrown into your first track; which is fine because not much explanation is needed. You simply have to complete the track in the shortest time possible whilst avoiding obstacles and hitting checkpoints.
The track design is really well done in this game, so there is always a new challenge around the corner. Whilst new players may struggle to get to grips with the difficult steering; as you play for longer, you'll start to increase your skills. You'll soon be able to come back and complete the first few levels you played with more skill, and within a quicker time frame.
Another great element of this game is the background music - it keeps things exciting at all times, and adds to those exhilarating moments as you are steering past corners.
There is an interesting currency system in this game, and you can use currency to earn upgrades and buy new bikes. But this isn't necessary, which is reassuring considering that some of the items require in-app purchases to acquire.
