Review C Launcher

Brandon Girod
6.9Good
Has a lot of themes
Sluggish performance
C Launcher for Android is just another launcher app that wants to replace Google’s stock experience. Way back in the day, using other launcher were a good way to get extra functionality that wasn’t offered normally. Nowadays, Android’s regular launcher is a lot more robust, leaving you with no real reason to switch unless you want some extreme customization. Unfortunately, this launcher doesn’t give you those options.
I’ll be frank, this app is nothing more than a themer, and a pretty limited one at that. It gives you the basic cache cleaner and flashlight options, but nothing outstanding. Swiping up on your homescreen will bring up a quick options menu where you can look at your recent contacts, a few options, and you can change the preferences on the launcher.
You can pick from an assortment of themes, but you have to download those separately from the Play Store. I found that a lot of the wallpapers didn’t scale to my 1080p screen, which is a shame since 1080p resolution has become the industry standard this generation. You can also use a handful of c-widgets, but again you have to download these separate on the Play Store.
C Launcher is mediocre at best. It has a DIY themer option, but everytime I tried to open it my browser would pop up. And that’s it. There were no options, and no other way to access this menu, so I didn’t even get a chance to use it. The themes are poorly put together, and would only appeal to a younger audience that can’t necessarily put together their own theme using other launchers or widgets. Even the performance was a bit sluggish at times. If it stammers a phone running a quad-core 2.3GHz processor, then I can only imagine how it would run on a mid-range phone.
