Review Drift For Fun
Drift, just for the fun of it
Author: Vlad Popa
Date: 04 Jun 2017, tested on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo
Completely free, decent game play, no ads
Missing lots of features
Drift for Fun is a game that is all about being as entertaining as possible. Right from the start it is worth mentioning that at the time of this review the game only presents users with practice and quick race game modes, but promising to add so much more.
The game places the user in the hot seat of unique, and somewhat comical looking cars, built specifically for drifting. The gameplay is simplified by having cars accelerate automatically, leaving the player to merely steer and launch into drifts by using the buttons located on the lower corners of the screen. This provides both an advantage and a disadvantage as the high speed gameplay is guaranteed, yet the absence of a break brings precision issues and the absence of a reverse option means that crashing into an obstacle becomes problematic.
The graphics are quite decent. Players are provided with a sufficient amount of details in the environment; however cars are a bit lacking in this regard. All cars have a unique, a bit childish look that somehow enhance the game's appeal to the casual user. At the time of the review there is a total absence of customization options and only two vehicles available, with space to implement more in the future. It is worth mentioning that the game runs remarkably fluid for the amount of attention to detail it presents.
Overall Drift for Fun for Android is an amusing, albeit unfinished little game. It feels mostly like a racing game with a drift element.
