Interesting plot, exciting game play
The dialog leaves a lot of room for improvement
Soulcraft 2 for Android is a much anticipated sequel to the original game. Play as one of the seven classes of angels in the war of Heaven versus Hell. You start out as a fledgling angel sent to face down the armies of Hell among the ruins of the Earth.
The game is filled with fast paced combat at every turn. There are plenty of demons to fight and if you get bored of that, then you can test yourself against other player’s setup. There is an asynchronous multiplayer, what this means is that you can go up against AI controlled versions of other players, plus a few demons that you can unlock and build a defense for your character when other players will come looking for trouble.
The graphics are impressive, with vibrant colors creating everything from dark, hellish landscapes to beautiful ruins. Although characters are nicely detailed, it was a bit disappointing to learn that some animations, such as the stiff wings, were very lacking. Another such case is the case of the throw animation that seems more like a twitch animation than a throw.
Overall Soulcraft 2 is a fun game to play and has all the elements that make a great action RPG, an interesting storyline, diverse classes that have their own mechanics and plenty of bad guys to fight and items to discover. There are a bit fewer RPG elements than I’d like however, but the game makes up for that in other ways. Despite the fact that it offers in-app purchases I never actually felt compelled to use it.
