Functions quickly, convenient interface, completely free
No search function
Tired of the weak functionality of the stock file explorer app in your smartphone? Well, you might want to check out Sliding Explorer. Offering more than the stock explorer does at almost the same size, it is a great alternative to use.
Compatible with Android 4.0 and later, sliding explorer packs in many features such as - Root access, Google navigation drawer, file/making, file actions (rename, cut, copy and paste), image previews, viewing of hidden files, specialized file icon previews, file sharing, zipping/unzipping files, printing (android 4.4 only), and edit/view file permissions. Navigating between the files was a breeze and there were no lags, glitches or bugs whatsoever.
One big drawback of the application is the lack of the search button, which is a major disappointment, as search is a feature which is supported in even the smallest file managers out there. There were three themes available - light, dark and classic, along with support for root explorer which lets you dig in deeper to the critical files of your OS. Transparent bars are also available, but can only be used after donation, which is not acceptable for unlocking a single feature.
If you do not search too many apps and can bear with that, Sliding Explorer is one good alternative to the stock file manager application on your phone. With its great interface, lesser size, themes, and a whole lot of features, there’s less to complain about Sliding Explorer
