Review Only One

4.5Average
Decent animation, no ads
Challenging controls, low quality animation
Only One is a seriously old school game. It looks like 16 bit Atari, which is cool if that’s your style, but games like that aren’t known for their finesse. It’s a basic sword fighting survival game. Fight off waves of opponents wielding swords and other hand to hand medieval style weapons; fight to be the last man standing and win.
The game environment is simple – you’re on top of a large pillar, waaaaay up in the heavens. It’s large enough to maneuver around the circular combat zone, and it has a pentagram etched into the stone. If you’re not careful, you can fall off the edge and plunge to your death. But you can also shove enemies off the edge too. You find a sword, and soon after grabbing it, your first opponent appears.
Engage in a parry of sword play and defeat your opponent. But soon after you defeat one, another appears, getting more and more difficult to defeat. It gets to be downright mayhem as you go on, with weird little blobs also getting into the mix and upping the difficulty. However, the biggest drawback of this game, is your character can't walk and swing his sword at the same time; you have to stop moving first, then swing, which invariably adds up to some messed up game play.

Resume

Overall, the game is well done but pretty boring. It’s just a little too good at being an old school throwback to be of much interest. The graphics and sounds are decent, but nothing exciting. But it's just far too simple to be interesting.
