Troll your way out of your mom's basement

Clever writing, offers a few new mechanics
Visuals are pretty hit or miss, pacing is off
I’m a huge fan of clicker games, but there is a fine line between a good clicker and a bad one. I can usually tell right off the bat whether I’m going to like one or not, but that wasn’t the case with Troll Face Clicker Quest for Android, which is a clicker game that I’m hoping is going for complete satire.
The theme of the game is what probably rubbed me the wrong way the most. You play as an angry online troll whose mom has threatened to kick out of her basement. The goal is to start a new prank YouTube channel to monetize so you can stay a “productive” member of the household.
What I like about the game is the witty writing. All of the descriptions are quirky and funny, and something I really enjoyed reading. That’s a pretty big departure from my usual course of action, which is to ignore most in-game text because it tends to be riddled with grammatical errors or just completely uninteresting.
I do have a few complaints with the gameplay, however. There doesn't appear to be a feature that lets you reset everything. This puts progression in a weird state because the game doesn't end up feeling very long. Most of the unlocks are hidden behind level caps rather than letting the player earn their way to making more money.
Overall, I really enjoyed the writing in Troll Face Clicker Quest but the gameplay felt off. The pacing feels a bit poor but the writing is top notch. I'd recommend dipping your toes in if you feel inclined, but this is definitely a subjectively good game rather than an objectively good one.
