Great UI, addictive gameplay, some of the most balanced clicker mechanics i've ever seen
Some of the upgrades don't make much sense
These days it feels pretty rare to really get wrapped up in a mobile game that borrows heavily from game genres that already exist. Typically, we’ll see the same tired formula regurgutated a million times in a row with little to no thought, but Brew Town for Android is a game that takes the clicker/idle game and turns it into something truly engrossing.
The object of the game, if it’s not clear from the name of the game, is to try and create a town built around brewing your own beer. It’s a pretty unique take on the clicker genre because you’re usually out of quests trying to vanquish foes. This game takes a more passive route. All you’ve gotta do is strike a good balance between supply and demand, and boy, in the beginning of the game it can seem pretty impossible.
The game revolves around an assembly line. You need hops to brew beer. You’ll use the hops to brew the beer and then bottle it. From here, you can stock your beer in the town’s bars in order to earn some money passively, and you’re given the ability to deliver your beer abroad. Deliveries earns you the most cash but you’re limited to how much you can deliver at first due to both supply, demand and your own ability to deliver.
Eventually you’ll be able to strike a good equilibrium where you’re brewing multiple beers that you’ve researched and improved in order to get further and further into the game. Brew Town feels like one of the best clickers I’ve played in a super long time. The timers do get a bit long, but nearly everything can be overcome by watching some really short video ads.
