Beautiful, minimal graphics, soothing gameplay, tranquil music
Video ads are too frequent, puzzles may be too simple for some
A lot of times, we get really caught up in thinking that games need to be challenging or that they need to be competitive. There are lots of great games that can test you without being too complicated or ask too much from you. Connection for Android is a relaxing puzzle game that checks all of these boxes.
The idea behind Connection is just that – it challenges you to connect all the dots in each level with a few colors. Sometimes there are multiple colors, other times you’ll have to figure out a single color. The game works by allowing you to draw colors from an origin point and connect each dot along the way. In my experience, many of the levels had multiple ways they could be solved, which is something I thought was pretty novel. In most puzzle games, you’ll find that most of the solutions are pretty linear.
The game really shines thanks to its minimal design. Backgrounds are beautiful gradients, and the music is as soothing as the gameplay. It’s not without its faults, however. I was able to play through a good amount of levels, but I was eventually met with many video ads that became pretty annoying.
If you’re looking for a puzzle game that you’d like to be able to relax to, one that you might not find too taxing, you’ll want to give Connection a shot. It’s a fun game where you can quickly rush through each puzzle, but the total package really makes the game seem fun and engaging despite how simple it actually is.
