Review Castle Cats
Lead your guild of cats and exterminate the Pugomancer

Never in a million years would I have ever imagined I’d be playing as the leader of a guild of cats, but that’s exactly what I did when I played Castle Cats for Android. This is part idle game and part RPG as the player assumes the role of a guild leader who recruits cats, sends them out on missions and ultimately help put an end to the terrible reign of the evil Pugomancer once and for all.
I can’t help but start this review the same way the game starts - complaining about the horrible tutorial. It’s incredibly lengthy, boring and totally unnecessary. I’ll be honest, managing to get through the UI is a bit daunting at first, but that’s mostly because it’s poorly designed. To get past this, the game overloads you with text and info to try and make it easier for you to understand.
Once you actually get into the game, you will notice that you actually just do a ton of waiting around. You’ll start by upgrading your fortress, which allows you to activate multiple cats that you’ve recruited. You can then send these cats out on missions based on the skills they have. Certain levels will require you to use cats with certain skills. You can then go select to go inside one of the quests to help your cats fight enemies and shorten the quest time. Unfortunately, the battle consists of simply tapping the enemy until you run out of energy, which isn’t actually that useful.
Overall, there is a lot more waiting around in this game than I would have liked. The idea surrounding the game is fun and I like the character design, but the game itself isn’t very engaging.
