Minimalistic Text for Android offers seriously pared down widgets for your home screen. The sparse look is actually quite appealing.

Minimalistic Text is a highly customizable set of widgets for your gizmo. Choose between weather widgets, time and date, or just a cool looking battery meter. There's only a few basic kinds of widgets, but an array of sizes to choose from. Not all the widgets display well in all sizes, but there's a lot to play around with and tweak, so you're sure to find something to your liking.

I really like the minimalist approach to this one. The widgets can be customized to use colors and images, however, I much preferred the pared down look of just plain text on black. There's something very stylish about minimalism, and this set of widgets does it extremely well. I think it's a good idea that they included all the customization options, however, the minimalist approach is what this app does best, so I'd stick with that and leave the fancier configs to more developed apps.

The battery meter is really innovative and cool because it looks like a standard barcode that appears on the back of any product packaging. It's neat to look at and displays nicely in both portrait and landscape.

Minimalistic Text doesn't do much, but it does it well. If you're looking for a simple alternative to all the widgets out there, this one is really nice.
