Features some of the same humor from the movie, you'll recognize popular characters, good art style
Average clicker mechanics, gameplay feels uninspired
I’m a huge sucker for idle clickers. There is just something magical about watching numbers get bigger and bigger, then wishing it all away when I decide it’s time to reset and start over with added bonuses. Office Space: Idle Profits for Android is an idle clicker from Kongregate that is based on the movie Office Space.
Just like the movie, you are an employee of Initech’s and you’re pretty mad. The company is about to lay a bunch of people off and chances are you’re one of them. In order to stick it to the man, you come up with an ingenious plan to install a virus on the company’s mainframe that will line your bank account with cash.
Gameplay is what I’ve come to expect in a clicker. This one is vertical with various floors you can unlock. The lower floors will produce less cash but earn money faster. You can upgrade floors to unlock more money and increase the rate they pay out. This game goes a bit further by allowing you to unlock new employees that can then be used to work on each floor, boosting each floor’s effectiveness.
The game is mostly about idling, but if you really want to, you can tap on the intern and earn some major cash quickly. If you’re as impatient as I am, this is probably how you’ll spend most of your time. When you earn cash you can also purchase upgrades that will do random things like increase the amount of money you earn from tapping and you can even unlock favorite scenes from the movie.
Office Space: Idle Profits is a good idle clicker, but I can’t say it really maintained my attention span. Maybe it’s because I’m just not a fan of the movie, but the entire thing just felt a bit too familiar to me.
