Review Age of Empire

Jay Feldman
Neat animation, decent graphics, exciting plot
Is lagging, challenging controls, inconvenient to play on a small screen, not interesting to play without paying money
Age of Empire for Android is an RPG fantasy quest game; build up your village, recruit mythic creatures, embark of quests and engage in battles against enemies.
Age of Empire is quite exhaustive in the world it creates; or rather, the world you create within its construct. Fans of this genre will surely be swept away by the intricate attention to detail and exhaustive options. Each game progresses as you create it; build your kingdom, recruit your band of heroes and warriors, train them, equip them and then head out to find some enemies to battle and conquer. It’s all good fun, but a tad heavy handed.
The presentation is a little cumbersome and cluttered. There’s a lot to read and the fonts are excessively small. I think this game would be a total bust on a smaller screen, where much of the details would be lost. There’s a lot on the screen at once, with all sorts of menu buttons, various options and icons to choose from. The game itself is nicely animated and the graphics are vivid and engaging. However, the battles themselves feel a little static, and the view has no real zoom to speak of, so much of the action is lost to tiny little pixels that make it hard to appreciate all the detail.
The app uses the tried and true method of impatience as a motive to spend money; dolling out enough action and adventure to keep you curious but barely interested unless you spend money to actually open up the play and make it engaging. I seriously have to question any game that has a $129 upgrade option. If you’re going to spend that kind of money on a fantasy quest, there better be real fire breathing dragons involved.
This game is slow to load and has some serious hangs. It also drained my battery pretty quick. I think overall, the presentation lacks real refinement to hold my interest, but kids and RPG fans of all ages will appreciate the fantasy elements and true to genre play.
Age of Empire is fun enough, but far too greedy for an app that lacks any real refinement in presentation. If a game is expects you to shell out this kind of coin, then it needs to be the best of the best; this one is decent, but there’s certainly room for improvement.

Agree with previous post. Onlone games are important and the fact it does not update SUCKS!
I hate you.when you put old versions you dont care about updating. Obsolette data. You wasted 1 month hard work on Spartan Wars. Never cared about customers. Online games are important!
