Neat graphics, interesting game play
No significant shortcomings
Dictator for Android lets you play oppressive ruler, making choices that affect the lives of all your people. In order to cling to power for as long as possible, you need to make your decisions so that no one set of people get too angry with you at any point. The groups to take into consideration include the army, people, police, family, oligarchy and opposition.
You have a limited stock of money, which constantly decreases. Each turn, you choose one group to have as "audience". Your decision will either please or anger this group, and also the other groups in different ways. Let the police use citizens cars for their business? That will please the police, but anger the people, and have unpredictable effects in other groups like the army and the opposition.
If a group turns gold, that means you are really in with them, and they will increase your money for as long as that is the case. But if any other group gets down to -3, a revolution is going to come, and you'll be deposed (game over for you).
There's probably a secret formula to sticking to power for ages. Something like making sure one group stays golden to keep the cash flowing, but not angering any of the others too much. It's an interesting dynamic, and the questions and choices are quite funny. That said, it's all just text, so you kind of have to use your imagination for what the consequences of your actions look like. I didn't really have the patience to play it lots of times though, as it sorta needs something else to it.
