Excellent puzzles, fun mechanics, good pacing
Pull My Tongue for Android is a puzzle game that feels unique and fresh in all the right ways. Greg is a chameleon and he’s hungry. Greg also happens to absolutely love popcorn. He loves it so much, in fact, that he’s willing to go through any obstacle in order to get some. So, naturally, you need to pull Greg’s tongue so that he can get his fix.
I found this game to be really charming. The aesthetic is kid-friendly but can also be admired by anyone who appreciates a good looking game. It’s not what I would call beautiful, but it is fun. The controls are really responsive, too. Pulling Greg’s tongue is easy and it usually goes exactly where you want it to go, though there were some times when I would find a solution that ended up failing, only to later realize that was the solution to the puzzle all along, his tongue was just getting caught somewhere it didn’t need to be.
The idea of each puzzle is that you want to guide Greg’s tongue in a way that collects coins so you can unlock new levels, and also grab the piece of popcorn at the end. The first few levels only seem to exist to wrap your head around the concept because you’re then presented with levels that have dangers you’ll need to avoid. Perhaps the best thing about the game are the tiered mechanics. New levels bring new mechanics into the game that slowly make it more and more complicated.
I really enjoyed Pull My Tongue. Levels were quick to play through but felt rewarding. I never felt like the game just plateaus at a certain point because there were new things to learn as I progressed.
