Review Epic Flail
Epic Flail is a flounder

Interesting graphics, good concept
Shallow combat, clunky controls
Epic Flail for Android is Mortal Kombat with flails. Every year, the best flail fighters from around the world gather together on a secluded tropical island to fight each other until there is just one flail fighter standing.
The premise around this game is really cool. A bunch of guys and gals flailing flails around is novel and funny. The characters are designed to look bad intentionally and the controls are pretty light, too. You can lift your arm up where your flail is controlled only by physics, and then you can drop your arm down to fling it. Everything comes together in this really poor, B-rated package that is totally intended and for that, it’s not bad. But the game has a lot of faults.
First off, there is an incredibly small amount of strategy here and it mostly seems to come down to luck. First off, you need to make sure your flail is in a position so that when you swing it, it actually moves somewhere other than your head. Most fights come down to whoever strikes first, though. There isn’t much in the way of rolling around or dodging. In fact, that part is kind of terrible because so many fights end in draws due to the fact that there are no defensive options in the game.
The second issue is that the game is actually an arcade game. If you lose a match then you have to start over from the first stage again, which can be absolutely infuriating.
Epic Flail has a good foundation but the actual game leaves a lot to be desired. If the developers could add more depth to the combat system, like a roll or dodge and if there was a lesser punishment for losing, I think this game would be fantastic.
