Excellent presentation, engaging gameplay, solid controls
Avatars aren't rewards and are temporary
At this point in mobile gaming, we should be seeing some really great and polished one-touch timekillers. They're simple enough games, yet we still see the Google Play Store absolutely flooded with quick cash-ins. Tap Tap Dash for Android is both an interesting and fun one-touch timekiller that makes me realize that despite the huge number of poorly created games, there are still developers out there making quality stuff.
In this game, you'll be tapping and dashing your way across a very small platform. If you fall off the platform then you lose. If you've got good reaction times then you can actually make your entire way across the game in one swoop.
You'll need to guide a bird down this path. It's always walking in a straight line, but tapping the screen will cause it to turn. What you need to do is wait to tap your phone until you get to a turn in the path, or until you come across a green circle with an arrow in the middle of it. The arrow can cause your avatar to do a few different things.
As you make your way across the game, you'll notice yourself, thankfully, hitting checkpoints. These checkpoints are levels and there are 250 of them. This is great because chances are, you won't be able to beat the game in one sitting. Or two. Or even three. The game's twists and turns become both tighter and faster as you play, and the way the camera pans around the screen after every touch can be disorienting enough that it could make more weak-stomached players almost feel queasy.
Tap Tap Dash is a great timekiller that is more than worthy of murdering your time. The game's presentation and style are both fun and unique, and hits a wide audience since it's not just another endless timekiller.
