A mobile FPS game that puts story first

Features multiple ways to log in, very nice looking graphics, interesting story
Performance can be choppy, controls are difficult without a controller
Dead Effect 2 for Android is another zombie FPS games to add to the giant list of zombie FPS games already in the Play Store. But, whereas most games like it will typically have you grinding out cold hard cash while you replay the same level over and over again to upgrade your character, this game focuses primarily on the 20+ hour story, which is something kind of new for a game like this.
I’ve never been a huge fan of FPS games on mobile phones because the controls are just too difficult to get right. This game sort of suffers from the same problem, but the controls and AI seem to be tuned in a way that at least gives players who aren’t playing the game with a bluetooth control pad some kind of fighting chance.
So, here we are again, on board the ESS Meridian, presumably fighting the same mess as before. But this time you get access to way more stuff. There is now an RPG element to the game where you can choose from three different classes that each have unique skills and upgradable parts.
There is something to be said about the fact that Dead Effect 2 really tries to be different with its story. But I think that has more to do with the fact that the game was a port from a console game than anything else. Still, if you have a gamepad to play this on, it’s a good portable experience.
